Consort Customer Alert
Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the warm, sunny weather. Just a quick post to advice you of a new Customer Alert from ConsortPM. If you have any complaints, or questions, with regard to the management of the Dalston Square development, this is your opportunity to speak directly with Gerard Hayes, Consort PM’s on-site manager. Book your 10-15 minute slot soon to get the one you want. 😉
The message (edited to correct atrocious punctuation):

Super-fast 1Gb Internet
Hello again. We have had a very interesting post (interesting to regular internet users anyway)Â in the forum today from resident Paul, which I thought warranted a post here. I quote:
Noticed a poster up on Gaumont Tower’s notice board about a month ago that has since disappeared. It was advertising a high speed fibre optic broadband service for the Dalston Square development with speeds of up to 1Gb per second. The company is called Hyperoptic and you can register your interest at www.hyperoptic.com. I dropped them an email and they told me:
“If we get 55 requests for service, we will move Dalston Square onto our priority list for installation and then we will engage with the Freeholder. Installation commences within 6 weeks of signed wayleave. (This can take weeks or longer.) Service will be live about 4 weeks later”.
They also said they had already conducted a feasibility survey with the Development Manager which was positive & to date had received about 15 requests for service, so if we can get another 40 then we can look to go live with this service. Please register with them if this is of interest to you!! www.hyperoptic.com.
Now, I will admit that at £50 per month this is not cheap. But, 1Gb!! They also offer a 100Mb connection for £25 per month. If you use a lot of bandwidth on a regular basis, or are simply a geek (like me 🙂 ) this is an awesome connection at a very reasonable price.
Alerts, Minutes, & Tariffs
Hello friends and neighbours, three things to mention.
Firstly a customer alert from Consort PM: The Main entrance door to Thomas Tower will be fixed tomorrow, 17th May. Parts had to be ordered which is why it has been out of action for the last few days.
Secondly, there seems to still be some confusion regarding E-on’s supply of electricity and heat to residents on the Square. To hopefully, finally, clear this up I have made a post over at the forum explaining exactly how it all works and offer advice as to how you can reduce your bills. You can read my post HERE. You do not need to be registered at the forum to read this, but will need to register (if you have not already done so) if you wish to comment or ask any questions.
Finally, the latest DSRA meeting was held Thursday of last week, and the minutes of this meeting are available for download from the Document Depository in the DSRA specific section of the forum HERE. To even see the DSRA specific section of the forum you must be registered AND have left me a message (and of course received an answer) in the application section HERE.
Meeting Reminder And Agenda
Hello neighbours. Just a reminder that we have our next association meeting on Thursday 10th May. The meeting will be hosted by Ben (the committee Chair) at 69 Gaumont Tower, starting at 7.00pm. Generally, our meetings run for approximately an hour and a half and I expect this one to be no different. As always, if you are a resident of Dalston Square, and would be interested in participating, you are more than welcome to attend: The more members the association has, the stronger our voice. Listed here below is the agenda for the meeting:

Consort ‘Customer Alerts’ & Consort Online
After a discussion with Gerard Hayes (Consort’s development manager here at the Square) yesterday, I have learned that  only a relatively small percentage of residents receive Consort’s ‘Customer Alerts’. These can arrive via email, SMS, or both, and advise residents of anything from reactive issues such as lift or water pump failures (including updates on their repair), to planned maintenance (e.g. window cleaning or gardening). As a service to you, dear neighbour, I will from today publish all alerts here on the blog. I will make it clear that these are Consort’s ‘Customer Alerts’, so if you have any questions regarding them you will need to contact Consort direct (I suggest Gerard would be your best first point of contact). Should you wish to sign up to Consort’s contact list and receive them directly yourself, this can be done via their website at www.consortpm.co.uk (you will need to register with them and then sign up for the alerts).
So, here is the first:
Consort Customer Alert:
GYM at Dalston Square:
Some Residents are switching off the air con units. We have just had them serviced and costs will occur if they are tampered with.
Please leave them alone and avoid costs to the Development.
Thank you for your anticipated assistance in this matter.

Consort Property Management
Next DSRA Meeting
Hello again neighbours. Two more things to mention. We now have a date set for the next Dalston Square Residents Association Meeting: Thursday 10th May, 7.00pm. The venue is yet to be decided but as usual will probably be a residents apartment: I will advise you as soon as I know. Secondly, it seems that while full-ownership residents have seen a small decrease in their service charges for the coming 6 months, shared-ownership residents have seen a large (sometimes very large) increase in theirs. If this applies to you and you would like to join other affected residents in voicing your outrage, drop an email to Carmen at dalstonresidents@gmail.com.
Consort ‘Resident’s Surgery’
Just a quick post for those of you not on Consort Property Management’s mailing list. Consort are holding a resident’s surgery to answer any questions/concerns you may want to put to them. Here is a copy of the communication I received:
Residents Surgery on April 25th 2012 from 6 pm to 8 pm in Development Managers office. Reserve slot 10 to 15 minutes via email to gerard.hayes@consortpm.co.uk or tel. 0207 2490896.
Thank you.

Consort Property Management

Live!
Hello everyone. Finally this website/blog is live on the net. The ‘Calendar’ and ‘Local Services’ pages are still rather empty but I will be updating them as the info comes in. Which is where you all can help: If you have a Residents Association related date to add to the calendar (a meeting or social event), or know of a good doctor, dentist, plumber, chemist, or any other service we can add to the ‘Services’ list, please let me know (via the Forum is best).
Hello!
Hello residents, neighbours, and friends of Dalston Square. A first blog post to test all is working, and a cheeky way to get something on the board. The basic page format is created, now to get some content. Speak to you soon.
